Metaphor

A vivid image of the rusting S.S. United States, the largest ocean liner entirely constructed in the United States and icon of now sadly atrophied American shipbuilding prowess. And perhaps a broader metaphor symbolizing much more. I created this work and several others to vividly illustrate the rusting, once iconic ocean liner just before her ill-fated final journey from Philadelphia in 2025 to become an artificial reef.
